The First Cruise Route from Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal Opens
On August 13, the first cruise route from Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal to Qianhai Bay opened. Guests from all walks of life and representatives of the airport’s model workers were invited to the maiden voyage to enjoy the sights of Qianhai and appreciate the development of the bay area and the changes of the city. The route further improves the Greater Bay Area’s marine tourism system with Shenzhen as the center, and meets the citizens’ needs for marine leisure and sightseeing. In addition, it further enriches the connotation of “air-sea transport” and the characteristic supporting leisure services of Shenzhen Airport aerotropolis through integrating characteristic air-sea tourism resources. It plays a positive role in driving the industrial upgrading of the airport area.
The opening of the route, jointly operated with Shenzhen Oceanus Group, is an active exploration of Shenzhen Airport Group to tap sea resources by using its geographic and sea-land-air-rail transport hub advantages after the airport area has been incorporated into “Greater Qianhai”. As the first cruise route in Bao’an District, it connects the landmarks on the west coast of Shenzhen, and opens a “sea window”. Citizens and tourists, through sightseeing by sea, will be able to witness the development of the Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen City, fully appreciate the charm of the “Greater Qianhai”, and feel the thriving and upward momentum of the city.
The report of the 13th Guangdong Provincial Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) proposed to advance the pilot project on the integrated and high-quality development of the Pearl River Estuary in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and strive to build a 100km golden inner bay around the Pearl River Estuary. Bao’an, located at the core of the bay area and the golden inner bay, serves as a “bridgehead” for industrial and resource agglomeration. The Qianhai CBD along the route, an urban center of Shenzhen dubbed as the Manhattan of the Pearl River Delta area, mainly develops producer services and headquarters economy. The cruise route developed by integrating the tourism resources of air, sea and the bay area enables citizens and tourists to more easily picture the bright future of “golden inner bay” while enjoying the sights of the present bay.
