Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal Resumed Flights to Hong Kong and Macao on Jan. 8, and Initiated Flights to Downtown Hong Kong
At around 9:25 a.m. on January 8, the first passengers who arrived in Shenzhen by boat from Hong Kong after customs clearance resumed between Hong Kong, Macao and Chinese mainland arrived at the Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal. “It feels good to go back home, and on the first day of border reopening, we are happy to catch up with this new convenient flight.” Ms. Wang, who took the first ferry to visit her relatives, happily told reporters after disembarking.
Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal was one of the first batch of ports in Shenzhen that resumed exchanges with Hong Kong. On January 8th, Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal officially opened a new route to downtown Hong Kong and resumed the route to Macao. The reopening of borders with Hong Kong and Macao and route operation marked a new phase of passenger transport at Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal. It is understood that the newly opened route to China Ferry Terminal, Hong Kong costs 70 minutes for a one-way journey, and the one to Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal costs 65 minutes. To ensure smooth route operation and border reopening with Hong Kong and Macao, Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal made careful and adequate preparations together with the departments of customs, border inspection, maritime, and others.
On the first day of border reopening, all manual inspection channels and convenient and speedy channels were opened, requiring only valid entry and exit documents on site for quick customs clearance procedures. “The routes to Hong Kong and Macao could better leverage the advantages of Shenzhen Airport’s air-sea intermodal transportation, provide convenient and seamless connection between Chinese mainland and Hong Kong and Macao, and new option for passengers to travel smoothly in the Greater Bay Area.” Principal of the Terminal Passenger Transport Center stated that the unique location of Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal allowed passengers conveniently travel to and from Hong Kong and Macao by ferry, and enjoy the scenery along the Great Bay Area.
It is understood that according to the relevant border reopening policies, as one of the first batch of ports to resume operation at Shenzhen-Hong Kong ports, Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal would not limit the number of passengers on a daily basis. Passengers can arrange their trip according to their flight schedule and buy tickets via “Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal Passenger Transport Center” WeChat official account or at the terminal counter. Shenzhen Airport will accelerate the resumption of routes to Hong Kong Airport, and open the routes to Tangjiagang Port and Haidao of Zhuhai. By improving its connection with the Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen Airport will better leverage the advantages of air-sea intermodal transportation to facilitate travelers’ trip to cities in the Greater Bay Area.
