Shenzhen Airport Aviation Cross-border E-commerce Enterprise Processing Zone Opens

2023-07-18

On July 16, two trucks loaded with cross-border e-commerce goods from YunExpress and DHL passed through the gate of the customs supervision site of the old domestic cargo station of Shenzhen Airport Express Center, marking the official opening of the Shenzhen Airport Aviation Cross-border E-commerce Enterprise Processing Zone (ACEEPZ). The project is the first key facility for Shenzhen Airport to build a world-class international cross-border express mail distribution center. The operation of the project will enable Shenzhen Airport to handle additional 200,000 tons of air express parcels and cross-border e-commerce cargos every year, further promoting the high-quality development of Shenzhen’s foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce industry.

In recent years, focusing on the requirements for serving a new development pattern and pursuing high-quality development, Shenzhen Airport signed cooperation agreements with leading enterprises including DHL, SF, Cainiao, and YunExpress, and tailored supporting logistics facilities for strategic customers to jointly built a world-class international cross-border express mail distribution center.

The newly reconstructed ACEEPZ is located in the old domestic cargo station of Shenzhen Airport, close to the Shenzhen Airport Express Center, covering an area of about 40,000 square meters. Through this tailor-made facility, Shenzhen Airport aims to provide professional customs clearance services for leading cross-border e-commerce enterprises such as Cainiao and YunExpress. With the opening of ACEEPZ and the first batch of enterprises settling in and carrying out business, the annual comprehensive guarantee capacity of Shenzhen Airport Express Center will reach more than 600,000 tons.

As a new format of international trade, cross-border e-commerce has become a key driver of foreign trade transformation and upgrading as well as new economic growth in Shenzhen. Air freight is the most important mode of transportation for cross-border e-commerce goods. Since the beginning of this year, Shenzhen Airport has opened five new international freight routes and increased flights for four international freight routes, including a number of cross-border e-commerce air freight routes. In the first half of this year, the cross-border e-commerce cargo business volume of Shenzhen Airport increased by 112% year-on-year. In addition to ACEEPZ, Shenzhen Airport is accelerating the construction of key facilities such as the East International Transshipment Cargo Station No. 1 Project and the East International Express Cargo Station No. 1 Project. Their completion and operation will increase the annual guarantee capacity of Shenzhen Airport international express and cross-border e-commerce by more than 1 million tons.
