Shenzhen Airport’s International and Regional Passenger Volume Exceeds 3 Million in First Half of 2025
With the gradual recovery of cross-border travel and the continuous optimization of China’s entry and exit policies, Shenzhen Airport recorded 3.055 million international and regional passengers in the first half of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 30.7%. The number of international and regional passenger flights exceeded 20,000, representing a 26.1% year-on-year growth. Notably, both figures surpassed the levels seen during the same period in 2019, setting a new record since the airport’s opening.
As the number of passengers entering and exiting through Shenzhen Airport continues to rise, the airport has collaborated with on-site inspection agencies and Shenzhen municipal authorities to expand international departure and arrival services and enhance the quality of international flight services, ensuring a convenient and seamless travel experience for passengers. Since the beginning of this year, Shenzhen Airport has launched a one-stop service center for foreign nationals, providing services such as domestic payment, transportation, cultural tourism, and telecommunications. The international departure area has been upgraded with new amenities, including office counters, zero-gravity recliners, soft leather sofas, and aroma diffusion points. Changing rooms and shower facilities equipped with mirrors, wardrobes, hair dryers, and storage shelves have also been added. In areas with high demand for foreign passenger inquiries, AI translation devices supporting real-time translation in over 100 languages have been installed to better meet the diverse needs of international travelers upon their arrival in Shenzhen.
During the first week of the peak summer travel season, Shenzhen Airport launched and increased frequency on two international passenger routes to Malé and Dubai, further optimizing its international route network. Currently, 20 domestic and international airlines operate international and regional passenger routes at Shenzhen Airport, with foreign airlines accounting for more than half. These include multiple five-star international carriers such as Emirates, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, and ANA. Shenzhen Airport revealed plans to launch and increase frequency on more international routes during the summer travel period, which is expected to bring the total number of international and regional destinations served by the airport to over 50.
Moving forward, Shenzhen Airport will continue to optimize its route network, offering more frequent connections and higher-quality services to build an “air bridge” connecting the world. This will provide travelers with more cross-border travel options and support Shenzhen’s efforts to expand high-level opening-up.
